Additionally, here are some simple ways to help children you know get the most out of literacy:
1. read to a child at least 15 minutes per day. It could be a book, a news article, or any other text that engages the child in reading
2. come up with questions to ask the children regarding the text. Questions help children to further engage with texts and improve their comprehension.
3. When in doubt, google it. If you don't have any books to read your child, don't fret! There are plenty of online resources that can be read to children, such as the stories at teachingtolerance.org
