The Beinecke Scholarship

Students must be in their junior year and expect to graduate between December 2021 and August 2022). Eligible students must also have a documented history of receiving need-based financial aid as undergraduates.

Each scholar receives $4,000 immediately prior to entering graduate school and an additional $30,000 while attending graduate school. There are no geographic restrictions on the use of the scholarship, and recipients can supplement the award with other scholarships, assistantships, and research grants.

Each year up to 20 new scholarships will be awarded. Each of the 136 schools invited to participate in the Beinecke Scholarship Program is permitted to make a single nomination each year.

Interested students or faculty who are supporting students should contact Dr. Laura Damuth, Director of National and International Fellowships, (Ldamuth1@unl.edu) if they wish to be considered UNL’s applicant for the 2020-21 academic year.

The campus deadline for the scholarship is November 15, 2020. The selection process will occur in early December, with the final submission in mid-February.
