Coding Workshop Using Python - June 25-27

In today's data-driven world, students and educators alike are making daily decisions influenced by vast amounts of information. Whether it's consciously recognized or not, the ability to visualize and analyze data is becoming increasingly crucial in fostering productive and efficient learning environments.

We are excited to bring the QuarkNet program, a national initiative generously funded by the National Science Foundation in partnership with the University of Notre Dame and supported by IRIS-HEP. As part of our commitment to empowering educators, we are thrilled to announce an upcoming introductory coding workshop designed specifically for teachers like you.

In this comprehensive three-day workshop, taking place from June 25th to 27th at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s city campus, participants will delve into the world of data analysis using the Python coding language. Whether you're a seasoned educator or new to the realm of programming, this workshop is tailored to accommodate all skill levels, with absolutely no prior knowledge of programming languages or particle physics required.

Here's what you can expect from this immersive experience:

  • Gain hands-on experience in utilizing Python to analyze and visualize particle physics data.
  • Develop a comprehensive plan to integrate real-world data analysis into your classroom curriculum.
  • Network with fellow educators and exchange insights and best practices.

All participants receive a stipend of $120 per day for their participation and commitment to enhancing your teaching toolkit.

Facilitated by experienced professionals and educators, this workshop promises to equip you with the necessary tools and strategies to transform your teaching approach and empower your students through the exciting world of data analysis.

To secure your spot or inquire further about this transformative opportunity, please reach out to Tracie Schroeder at bravesearth@gmail.com or Megan Alvord at ms.mealvord@gmail.com.

Spaces are limited, so don't miss out on this chance to embark on a journey towards educational innovation.

Join us as we pave the way for a future where data literacy is not just a skill but a cornerstone of education. We look forward to welcoming you to our coding workshop and embarking on this enriching learning experience together.
