Civil engineering has been part of the fabric of the University of Nebraska for more than 140 years, meeting the needs of the state of Nebraska and the country. To reflect that constant change, the department on Sept. 27 was rebranded as the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.

The Oct. 14 Bridging Big Data 2019 workshop (BBD 2019) will bring together bridge dataset owners, big data solution providers and academics to discuss problems and possible solutions by focusing on big data pipelines for aging rural bridge infrastructure.
