Grand Challenges Scoping Workshop is Tuesday-Thursday.
Grand Challenges Scoping Workshop is Tuesday-Thursday.

The Office of Research and Economic Development is hosting a Grand Challenges Scoping Workshop – Tuesday-Thursday, Jan. 11-13 from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. each of those days – to spark new ideas and teams positioned to pursue funding through the Grand Challenges Catalyst Competition.

Expertise is sought from and participation is encouraged by every discipline at the university. Individuals who want to explore big, critical questions that may only be addressed through convergent, interdisciplinary collaboration are encouraged to attend.

The scoping workshop will expand collaborative connections and increase awareness of capabilities, needs, and driving questions relevant within and across UNL’s portfolio of grand challenge themes.

At the end of the event, participants will have met and uncovered the potential for new collaborations around innovative ideas with individuals from different fields. A primary outcome of the event will be a set of project sketches that can be further developed into goal-based proposals that can be submitted for funding.

Due to the highly collaborative and iterative design of the event, participants must be willing to commit to participate for the entire duration of the workshop. For more information, send an email request to grandchallenges@unl.edu.
