The College of Engineering's fully online Master of Engineering Management (MEM) program remains highly ranked among the best in the nation, earning two top-20 spots in the 2022 U.S. News & World Report rankings that were released on January 25.
Ranked as No. 17 in the category for Best Online Master’s in Engineering Programs Offering Engineering Management, Nebraska’s MEM moved up four places (from No. 21 last year). And for the first time U.S. News ranked the MEM among the Best Online Master’s in Engineering Programs for Veterans, designating it as No. 13 on their list.
“Our MEM is a premium graduate degree for STEM industry professionals for its streamlined curriculum that fuses technical operational and business managerial knowledge relevant to the needs of those employed in engineering, science, and technology,” said Jena Asgarpoor, MEM program director and professor of practice. “The curriculum capitalizes on vast knowledge of our seasoned faculty, research-based pedagogy specific to online education, and interactive cross pollination of our students’ experiences sharing and discussing their perspectives and work challenges from a STEM lens. Rather than business management, our MEM shapes students for engineering management and prepares them for leading technical talent, teams, and projects.”
The MEM has consistently ranked high among the Best Online Graduate Engineering Programs by U.S. News, as well as in other national Best MEM and Best Value rankings of graduate engineering management programs.
The MEM degree is a 30-credit program, and the College of Engineering also offers a 12-credit graduate certificate in engineering management. The master’s degree is one of nine programs internationally certified by the American Society for Engineering Management for meeting and exceeding their rigorous standards and review.
MEM enrollment is thriving and has more than doubled in the past four years.
