College of Engineering Distinguished Speaker Series on Friday to feature ASEE executive director

February is National Black History Month, celebrating achievements by African Americans and recognizing their role in U.S. history.

In honor of National Black History Month, the college is hosting Dr. Norman Fortenberry, executive director of the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE), as the Distinguished Speaker in the College of Engineering Seminar Series on Feb. 25.

His schedule is as follows:

  • 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.: Presentation, “21st Century Engineering: Implications for Students, Faculty, and Curricula”
  • 12:30 p.m.-1:30 p.m.: Discussion with faculty, students and staff on opportunities and challenges for underrepresented scholars and students.

Please register by 5 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 24 at the link below for the Distinguished Speakers Presentation and Discussion featuring Dr. Fortenberry. The Zoom meeting information for the presentation and discussion will be sent after registration.
