Next COE DEI Learning Group session is Thursday

Dear Colleagues,

Our next COE DEI Lunch & Learn will be on Thursday, Feb. 23. In this session, we have invited Jennifer PeeksMease, the assistant vice chancellor of inclusive leadership and learning, to join us for a talk and discussion addressing DEI here at UNL.

We'll offer a basic understanding of DEI language, how we approach the work here at UNL, guidance on how to access resources available across campus to assist you on your own DEI journey, and a few actions you can take to support D&I in your current work responsibilities. Come ready to participate and ask questions!

Time: Thursday, Feb. 23, Noon-1 p.m.
In-Person Location: 114D OTHM & 100A PKI

Last semester COE DEI Council launched a series of lunchtime learning sessions for faculty and staff to study various diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) fundamentals together. This is an effort in response to one of the outcomes of the climate survey – https://engineering.unl.edu/climate-survey-report-and-recommendations/– conducted last fall, i.e., to improve general knowledge and culture of DEI in the COE community. Topics studied up to now include bias, allyship, identity, privilege, and covering. If you have good and reliable DEI study resources, please send them to me and we will add them to our study plan.

If you can’t make this one, future session dates can be found in this link. Look forward to seeing many of you on Thursday.

Thanks,
Yusong
