The Engineering Machine Shop is currently shut down and is in the process of temporarily relocating to Othmer Hall room 47 (basement) due to the renovation of Scott Engineering Center first floor. It is estimated that the Engineering Shop will operate from this location for the next few months.
The shop will have limited machining capabilities during this time. CNC machining centers as well as WEDM (wire electrical discharge machining) will not be available during the renovation, but we will have small capacity milling, turning, fabrication and welding services available.
If you’re in need of WEDM or large-capacity CNC machining, the Physics shop in Jorgenson Hall may be able to accommodate your request. If the Physics shop cannot accommodate your machining requests, it is suggested you contact one of Lincoln’s commercial machine shops such as Lincoln Machine or TMCO.
It is estimated that the machine shop will be open for services in the temporary location and ready to accept machining orders that are of limited complexity and within the capacity of machines available by mid-August.
For questions about the new location or services, call Jim McManis at 402-472-2555 or email jmcmanis1@unl.edu. The Engineering Machine Shop staff will be happy to work with you in processing your request.
