Engineering Graduate Student Symposium abstracts should be submitted by Friday

The College of Engineering’s Graduate Student Advisory Board (GeSAB) is hosting the fourth-annual Engineering Graduate Student Symposium on Friday, Feb. 23, 2024, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. in Willa Cather Dining Complex (Red Cloud Suite & Pioneers Room) during the 2024 Engineer’s Week. Transportation arrangements will be made for Scott Campus students, details to be announced. Last year’s Symposium schedule can be viewed at https://engineering.unl.edu/downloads/graduate/symposium/symposiumschedule_2023.pdf

Graduate students will present session talks and compete in the 3-in-5 Pitch Competition and Poster/Research Session. Students are encouraged to submit an abstract at https://engineering.unl.edu/graduate-programs/graduate-symposium-application/ by Friday, Dec. 8. Presenters will be notified in mid-January.

  • Session Talks: A series of 15-minute presentations that share a commonality. These sessions are open to showcase research at all stages.
  • 3-in-5 Pitch Competition: Participants will have three slides to promote their idea to a panel of judges in five minutes with no question-and-answer period.
  • Research Poster Session: Students are encouraged to prepare a research poster for this session and present the poster again for UNL Research Days in March/April. If a student has prepared a research poster for a previous conference this year, they are welcome to present that poster.

This is a great opportunity for students to present their work, learn about research conducted in different areas, and network with their peers. Registration for the event will open in late January.
