The college has announced the annual call for nominations for faculty and staff awards. Detailed criteria and information for each award can be found on the SharePoint site (link below). The deadline for submitting nominations is Feb. 2, 2026.
UNL VEX U is hosting the second-largest high school VEX robotics tournament in Nebraska January 9-10- in Kiewit Hall and is in need of many volunteers. There will be food provided for volunteers during both dinner on the 9th and lunch on the 10th.
There are many different positions with different times that require no prior experience; you can sign up for as many or as few as you would like. Some positions include scorekeeper, refereeing, resetting fields, judging, and queuing.
Our event has a variety of roles spread out from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., none of which require past robotics experience.
Judges are one of the two vital roles we need for our event and would be a great fit for faculty, staff, and spouses. Judges will interview teams, deliberate with other judges, and help decide the teams that will receive both a custom trophy and a custom banner to take home. Awards deal with team merit, design process, note booking, build quality, programming ability, and more facets of robotics design.
Researchers should complete required new Responsible Conduct of Research/Research Security training in Bridge. This training is a federal requirement. The deadline for the National Institutes of Health, and U.S. Departments of Agriculture, Education, and Justice is Jan. 25, 2026. Continue reading…
