VC for research and development finalists' interviews begin today

The finalists for VC for Research and Development will be on campus over the next two weeks.

College of Engineering faculty are encouraged to attend the open forums and receptions for the finalists for vice chancellor for research and economic development, who will visit the university for official interviews. The visits begin today (Jan. 9) and conclude Jan. 24.

The finalists will make public presentations at 3:30 p.m. at the Nebraska Union Auditorium during one of the days of their visits. The finalists, listed by presentation dates, are:

* Today – Marty Scholtz, executive associate vice president for research and professor of biochemistry, biophysics and molecular and cellular medicine, Texas A&M University

* Thursday (Jan. 11) — Richard Hichwa, senior associate vice president for research and economic development and professor of radiology, physics and radiation oncology, University of Iowa

* Jan. 18 — Robert (Bob) Wilhelm, vice chancellor for research and economic development and professor of mechanical engineering and engineering science, University of North Carolina at Charlotte

* Jan. 23 — Mo Dehghani, vice president for research, innovation and entrepreneurship and professor of mechanical engineering and systems and enterprise, Stevens Institute of Technology
