Participate in the International Mathematical Contest in Modeling.

The Math Department is sponsoring one or more teams to participate in the International Mathematical Contest in Modeling.

The International Mathematical Contest in Modeling (MCM) is a contest where teams of undergraduates use mathematics present their solutions to real world problems. The next MCM will take place February 13-17, 2020, and we are looking for students who wish to be part of UNL's team for this contest. Students don’t need to be a Math major to participate, so we are an extending an invitation to students in the Sciences and Engineering areas.

Last year, a team composed of three UNL undergraduates placed in the top 7% out of 14,108 participating teams from around the world.

Interested students should be encouraged to contact Prof. Alexandra Seceleanu (aseceleanu@unl.edu) to signal their interest in participating. Students can visit https://www.comap.com/undergraduate/contests/mcm/ for more information about the contest.
