Finals: Resources, Tips, and Events

As spring finals approach, you may begin to feel overwhelmed and underprepared. The CSE department has compiled a list of resources, dead week activities, and tips to help students prepare for finals. Included are places to study and online resources.

Places to Study:

Love Library, Special Hours, April 29- May 1, 8 a.m.- 1 a.m.

Career Resources Center, Room 225, Nebraska Union, 8 a.m.- 5 p.m.

Nebraska Alumni Association, open from Sunday, April 29 at midnight – Friday, May 4 at midnight. For more information, please email scarletguard.unl@gmail.com.

Dealing with Stress:

University Health Center - UHC offers mental health services to students year-round through their Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS). If you feel overwhelmed, do not hesitate to contact them.

Campus Recreation Center - Exercise is a great way to relieve stress. Campus Rec offers a wide range of activities including badminton, swimming, yoga, and rock climbing. For hours of operation, please visit http://crec.unl.edu/facilities/hours.shtml.

Stress Free Zone - Enjoy free snacks, giveaways, massages, pet a dog and other fun activities. Sponsored by the University Health Center, Campus Rec, UNL Student Management Center and Lincoln Pet Partners. The event will be held on April 24 - 26, from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the Nebraska Union.

Events:

UNL is sponsoring an array of concerts at Kimball Hall throughout dead week. The Wind Ensemble will play on Tuesday, April 24 at 7:30 p.m., the Symphonic Band on Wednesday, April 25 at 7:30 p.m., and the Campus Band on Thursday, April 26 at 7:30 p.m. Take a break and relax by listening to live music.
