NET Technology Group is hiring a software development intern.
Description
Work within the NET (http://www.netnebraska.org) Technology Group for software development using various development tools, administration, integration, and testing of broadcast software systems, media workflows and media storage. Up to 20 hours/week.
Examples of Work
Assist the Network Engineering, Media Services, Government Services and IT groups in development, integration and testing of NET media workflow, media storage and streaming services. Provide software solutions to support end to end solutions leveraging current and future vendor software solutions, APIs, and middleware integration.
Qualifications/Requirements
• Experience creating applications and services with modern development OOP languages, preferably Python, Dejango and open source.
• Knowledge of SQL development, including creating views, stored procedures, triggers, utilizing ADO.net and LINQ objects.
• Knowledge debugging with modern IDEs, preferably Visual Studio.
• Experience creating and consuming web-based APIs, preferably RESTful API using ASP.NET Web API.
• Knowledge with modern source control management (SCM) systems, AWS/Azure DevOps and GitHub.
• Experience with modern project management processes, preferably Agile.
• Knowledge with front-end development, preferably HTML5, JavaScript, Angular, CSS and Bootstrap, Node, Web Pack.
• Experience with software design principles, patterns, and practices, like SOLID, clean code, and design patterns.
• Two years of education in computer software development for media, internet or related experiences.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Knowledge of: software systems configurations, PC skills including proficiency with Microsoft offices;
• IT & Network skills on broadcast related, IP based applications, workflows and media distributions silos; Ability to work on multiple platforms and solutions; streaming media experience with AWS tools a plus.
