The Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) Department of the University of Nebraska - Lincoln seeks applicants for a full-time Managing Director of the Innovation Laboratory. The Laboratory is the home for student involvement in collaborative hardware/software projects. In the Innovation Lab, small groups or individual students work on projects ranging from the development of prototypes for industry sponsors, to small solutions for on-campus and non-profit organizations, to student-conceived products, to the development and evaluation of research prototypes.

The Managing Director is responsible for mentoring students in their projects, and attracting and interfacing with project sponsors. The Managing Director will collaborate with faculty members and assist in promoting the CSE Department's missions.

Applicants must have a baccalaureate degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field, at least 2 years of software engineering experience, and project management experience. A professional background that includes project leadership and masters degree is preferred. Applicants should have excellent communication skills, a strong desire to mentor students and work in a team/collaborative environment, and an entrepreneurial mindset.
