Are you still looking for a summer 2022 internship? Engineering Career Services would like to share an exciting internship opportunity for College of Engineering students for this upcoming summer!

The Nebraska Defense Research Corporation (NDRC) is hiring research interns in Bellevue, Nebraska.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
As an NDRC research intern, you will work closely with NDRC staff to:
• Develop and build network prototypes for national military networks
• Design software and hardware solutions to enhance military decision making
• Collect, synthesize, and present research findings through briefings and informal discussions
• Assist in the production, editing, and delivery of presentations and reports for stakeholders and peer-reviewed technical publications
• Operate within a program management structure that involves commercial, government, and academic mission partners
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
• Must be a U.S. citizen and pass a background check and drug screening
• Demonstrated personal integrity, motivation, ability to work without direct supervision to meet deadlines and deliver quality work products
• Strong written and verbal communications skills
• Capability to learn new hardware and software tools and research methods
• Ability to work as part of a team, including student interns, NDRC staff, and other stakeholders
• Must be enrolled at an accredited institute of higher education

Desired Majors and Skillsets
• Any engineering, science, math, information technology major is desired. Other majors will also be considered with relevant real-world experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
• Studying computer programming, networking, or computing systems design
• Interest in designing IP-based communications systems
• Interest in prototyping and lab experimentation

Benefits
• Flexible work schedule (up to 40 hours per week during academic breaks and up to 20 hr during scheduled academic semesters/quarters )
• Hourly pay: $20+
