CSCE470/870 Computer Graphics will be offered this semester on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:30 a.m. – 10:20 a.m. in 119 Avery Hall, and will be taught by new professor Hongfeng Yu. Students will study the fundamentals of computer graphics using modern Shader-Based OpenGL.

The course will cover the elementary graphics pipeline, 3D graphics programming, and fundamental graphics theories in viewing, shading, rendering, modeling, and visualization. Prerequisites include solid C/C++ programing, data structures, and algorithmic paradigms. The basics of linear algebra are assumed.

Grades will be based on programming assignments, a tentative midterm, and a final programming project.

The textbook is "Interactive Computer Graphics: A Top-Down Approach with Shader-Based OpenGL" (6th Edition) by Edward Angel and Dave Shreiner, published by Addison-Wesley.
