TRIO Educational Talent Search (ETS), at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, will be hiring an instructor for the ETS Middle School Summer Coding & Robotics Program. Scholars in 5th-8th grade in the current school year participate in classes, field trips, and other activities. The goal of this program is to expose kids to introductory coding skills and robotics technology as well as provide experience being on a college campus.

Coding experience preferred but not required.

Program dates: June 5–29

Location: UNL City Campus

Pay: $11/hour

Hours per week: Approximately 14 hours

Required days and times:
• M-F, 2:45 PM -5:30 PM
• Training: will be May 30th through June 2nd with times TBD

Responsibilities:
• Assistance with robotics curriculum
• Scholar supervision while on campus and during field trips
• Building relationships with the scholars
• Tasks assigned by staff as needed

Applicant requirements:
• One year of college experience
• Desire to work with middle school students from low-income and first-generation backgrounds
• Being respectful and following requests of ETS Staff
• Punctuality
• Interpersonal skills
• Attention to details
• Ability to spend periods of time outside daily for Scholar movement and any outdoor activities (heat safety or inclement weather is taken into consideration for activities, but movement is required each day)
• Must pass reference checks and background checks
