The Nebraska Water Center is hiring for a student internship opportunity in AI and machine learning technologies for smart agriculture.
Application of AI/ML/Deep Learning Technologies in Smart Agriculture
The scope of the project is multidisciplinary spreading in computer science and engineering, AI/ML/DL, and computer vision. It is a combined software and hardware project.
The student will work on the following areas depending on the specific project:
• AI/ML/DL
• Computer Vision
• Data Privacy
• Federated Learning
• tinyML Boards
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in Python
• Comfortable working in Networking multiple devices and client-server setup.
• ML/DL knowledge.
• Knowledge of TensorFlow, Keras, and PyTorch. (At least one)
• Experience in tinyML boards (it’s a plus, not required)
• Knowledge of Internet-of-Things. (it’s a plus, not required)
Duties:
• Coding
• Implementation
• Literature Survey
• Data Annotation
The work will be remote and all communication will be on Zoom/Teams. The student may work up to 20 hours per week and will be paid as per UNL’s current wage. Initially, the project will be for six months. It might be extended. The student will be included as the coauthor in the published work in a conference/journal.
