Do you want to learn how to use a supercomputer? Are you interested in number crunching, high-speed transfers or large-scale storage? Register now to attend the Holland Computing Center (HCC)'s Fall Kickstart event on Sept. 4 from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM CDT in person at the East Campus Union. This workshop will feature hands-on experience on how to access and use HCC's powerful computing resources to scale up your own research.

Topics to include:
• New and exciting updates at HCC
• How to connect to and use HCC's computer clusters, freeing up your workstation or laptop for more immediate tasks
• Transferring data at high speed via a simple web interface
• Open OnDemand — "one-stop" access to Swan through an interactive, web-based portal
• Good practices when using shared HPC resources

Participants are recommended to sign up for an HCC account, but an account is not required.

Registration is free but limited.

• 10:30 AM–12:00 PM — Introduction to Navigation and Files in Linux
• 1:00–2:30 PM — Introduction to Data Storage and Transfer on HCC
• 2:40–3:10 PM — Using Software on HCC Resources
• 3:10–3:40 PM — Running and Submitting Jobs on HCC
• 3:40–4:00 PM — Introduction to Good Practices in HPC
• 4:00-4:30 PM — Open Questions
