Decision Neuroscience Laboratory: Undergraduate Research Assistant Position
The Decision Neuroscience Laboratory at the University of Nebraska seeks an Undergraduate Research Assistant to study how the brain enables intelligent thought and decision making. To elucidate the neural basis of intelligence, we employ methods from Cognitive Neuroscience (fMRI), Network Science (graph theory), and Computational Science (statistical machine learning). Building on this knowledge, our laboratory develops and evaluates interventions designed to optimize cognitive function and brain health by integrating principles from Cognitive Neuroscience (transcranial direct current stimulation), Contemplative Science (mindfulness meditation), Exercise Science (aerobic fitness), and Nutritional Science (diet and nutrition). Our research is supported by grants from the Department of Defense and private industry.
Responsibilities:
• Complete necessary training for conducting human subjects’ research.
• Assist researchers with established protocols and collecting neuropsychological, physiological, neuroimaging data from human subjects for ongoing projects.
• Prepare and manage research materials to maintain an organized and efficient laboratory environment.
• Prepare scholarly products including reports, research abstracts, posters, and manuscripts for publication.
Qualifications:
• Currently enrolled undergraduate student with a strong interest in neuroscience, psychology, or a related field.
• Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (or similar software).

The research assistant is expected to work for 10 or more hours a week, preferably 4 or 5 hours at a time. The pay rate is $12/hour.
