Students enrolled in Senior Design spend two semesters working in teams of five or six on a software project sponsored by members of local industry or university faculty or staff. The course provides students with the hands-on educational and professional experience that comes with contributing to a real-world project.

We are looking for two projects for the Spring semester, and we are also looking for about 35 project sponsors for the upcoming 2025-26 academic year. Spring-start projects will begin at the end of January, take the summer months off, and resume in August, finishing in December. Fall-semester start projects will begin in August 2025–May 2026.

Previous projects have served a variety of fields and industries and have been developed with many types of technologies and coding languages. Offered project types include mobile apps, data analytics and visualization, web-based systems, gaming technologies, artificial intelligence, machine learning systems, and more.

As only a limited number of projects can be completed within the course each year, not all submissions will be accepted. Submissions will be reviewed and selected by members of the Senior Design team and a panel of course advisors.

To submit a project proposal, fill out the form found on the Senior Design website.
