As a prominent investor, Jensen was involved with the Arizona Diamondback Baseball Club, Phoenix Suns, and his beloved alma mater, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He endowed numerous teaching chairs at the university, including one in the School of Computing, currently held by Dale M. Jensen Chair Professor Mehmet Can Vuran.
