
The Holland Computing Center (HCC) is seeking students to join its team. HCC is hiring for two types of positions:
Undergraduate Student Positions (Research Project)
HCC is seeking undergraduate students (sophomore or junior) to assist with a research project involving the deployment, maintenance, and user support of research computing resources.
Responsibilities may include:
• Assisting users with computing and storage resources.
• Developing and deploying monitoring tools for research resources using dashboard technologies and programming languages (e.g., JavaScript/TypeScript).
• Assisting in outreach to university communities.
Qualifications:
• General programming or web design experience.
• Familiarity with scripting (Python or others).
• Research computing experience is helpful but not required.

Graduate Student Positions
HCC is also seeking graduate students (of any year) to assist with daily HCC tasks.
Responsibilities may include:
• Providing user support (e.g., responding to support emails).
• Updating documentation and preparing training materials.
• Assisting in outreach to university communities.
• Contributing to high-performance computing application projects.
Qualifications:
• Familiarity with Unix/Linux systems.
• General programming and scripting (Python, Bash, etc.).
• Research computing experience is helpful but not required.
This is an hourly-paid position (not a research assistantship). Students are expected to work 10–20 hours per week during the semester, with flexible scheduling. A brief interview will be conducted. Please send questions or interest to Hongfeng Yu (hfyu@unl.edu).
