Undergraduate mobile app developer needed

Job Summary
Ming (Bryan) Wang, associate professor in the College of Journalism and Mass Communications, is looking for an undergraduate student to help develop a mobile app for vaping cessation. In collaboration with a local nonprofit, he and his team have developed content for an app relating to e-cigarette cessation, and need a student to develop and maintain the app. The team will be pilot testing this app with UNL students this year, and the hired student will get to use software development skills to contribute to an important public health goal.

Wang is looking for a current UNL undergraduate student who can start as soon as possible this semester in the spring of 2026. This position requires a commitment of 10 hours per week in a regular semester; working in the summer of 2026 is also possible. All work can be done
remotely; however, a weekly check-in meeting, either in person or via Zoom, is required.

Note that the student is NOT expected to have prior knowledge of e-cigarettes when applying for this position.

• Current UNL undergraduate student status from any major
• Prior project experience with app development

• Professional communication skills
