
Dr. Hongzhi Guo’s research group is seeking a motivated undergraduate student for a project in wireless sensing and deep learning.
This project focuses on Near Field Communication (NFC) systems, which are widely used in secure applications such as access control, identification, and mobile payments. Research activities include wireless signal collection, signal processing, deep learning model development, and explainable AI techniques for device authentication. The project provides hands-on experience that connects concepts from wireless communication, digital signal processing, machine learning, and cybersecurity in a real-world research setting.
Undergraduate students who are U.S. citizens, permanent residents or U.S. nationals are eligible to apply. Applicants should be majoring in computer science, computer engineering, data science, electrical engineering, or related fields. Coursework or experience in wireless communication, signal processing, machine learning, or data science is preferred.
The position includes a $4,800 stipend, research support, and funding to present research results at a domestic conference.
