Dr. Marpaung will share his views on higher education at the international level, as well as steps many institutions take to increase student retention. Dr. Marpaung believes learning should be both fun and challenging for students. He is ready to discuss and share his views with CSE.

Dr. Marpaung is a lecturer at University of Texas Pan-American (UTPA) in Edinburg, Texas. He received his Doctoral, Masters and Bachelor degree in electrical engineering along with his graduate certificate in university faculty preparation (engineering education) and minor in mathematics at Oklahoma State University. Dr. Marpaung’s areas of expertise are in robotics, and ultrasound and computer architecture. Dr. Marpaung currently serves as an advisor for the Techne Ingenium chapter at UTPA and also advises six senior design teams, four of which will compete in robotics competitions. One of Dr. Marpaung’s goals for UNL is to build 3D Virtual Labs.
