As the spring semester begins, the CSE Department has compiled a list of important dates and advising tips that students should know. Information includes adding and dropping classes, recommended course load, GPA requirements, financial aid assistance, and graduation dates.

Adding/Dropping Classes: Keep in mind that January 17th is the last day to add a class and the last day to receive a full refund for dropped classes. Classes added after the 17th will require written permission from the instructor and the dean's office or from a CSE advisor. Students must file by January 20th to remove any dropped courses from their official record and to receive a 75% refund.

Course Load: Enrollment in at least twelve credit hours is required to be considered a full-time student. Dropping below full-time status can influence financial aid, so it is important to check with Student Accounts before making any changes. Student Accounts is located in room 124 of the Canfield Administration Building.

Grades: A minimum GPA of 2.0 is required to avoid academic probation. A grade of 'C' or above is required by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering for courses to be applied towards the major.

Financial Aid and Student Bills: Tuition and fees must be paid in full by February 12th. Payments can be made via MyRed, in person, or by mail. Information regarding tuition rates and fees can be found at http://go.unl.edu/q2k. To see your student bill, go to MyRed, and click on the Student Account tab.

Graduation: In order to graduate, seniors must complete a senior check interview, file for the degree, and have all university accounts paid in full. The senior exit interview should be completed one or two semesters before graduation to ensure that any oversights can be corrected. Degrees must be filed for by January 27th.

Remember, if you find yourself struggling in a class, the Student Resource Center offers assistance with coursework and technical support. The SRC is located in room 13A of Avery Hall.
