Programing contest practices and algorithms seminars will begin Wednesday, Sept. 19 at 6 p.m. in Avery 352.

These seminars will take place every Wednesday this fall semester.

They are open to anyone who is interested in competing in computer programing competitions, or who would like to strengthen their problem solving skills, algorithm design, or algorithm implementation abilities.

For the competitions, we primarily focus on the ACM ICPC contest that leads to a world level competition at a different location each year. Last year we had a team travel to China to compete as one of the top 140 teams in the world.

The ACM ICPC competition requires a team of three students. They have access to one computer, and over 5 hours they try to write programs to solve as many problems from an original problem set as possible.

If you are interested in competing or have questions about any of this, please contact the Head Coach, Jeff Ifland jifland@cse.unl.edu
