The US Meat Animal Research Center located in Clay Center, Nebraska is seeking two permanent, full-time, Information Technology Specialists responsible for designing and developing systems that allow research and livestock data to be put into electronic form at the point of collection and that transfer data directly to USMARC databases.
Responsibilities include: Using formal methodologies to design information systems that will be used for paperless livestock data collection; implementing the information system including identifying hardware and software, writing code/programs to implement the design, and debugging and testing the implementation; developing user documentation for the system; training users of the information system; serving as the primary point of contact for the system users to answer questions and solve user problems.
