Math 896 Complex Analysis 2019

Take a look online at our newly released 2020 schedule for the Nebraska Math and Science Summer Institutes (NMSSI). Science courses and at least two more math courses will be added soon, so keep checking back for updates. Instructors are continuing to be confirmed as well.

We are offering at least 17 courses designed with K-12 math and science teachers in mind. See the catalog at: http://scimath.unl.edu/nmssi/2020/course-catalog/.

Courses go live in MyRED soon, and official UNL registration in MyRED begins March 2. For all in-person NMSSI courses, current Nebraska teachers automatically qualify for a tuition fellowship from UNL equal to 20 percent of resident graduate tuition. Additionally, Nebraska K-12 teachers can apply for supplemental NMSSI Fellowships to further defray tuition costs for NMSSI courses (funds are limited). See our NMSSI website for details. We expect that fellowship application to open by March 2.

In addition to many courses offered in Lincoln, this summer we are partnering with Educational Service Units and local school districts to offer courses for teachers in Gretna, Hastings, Holdrege, La Vista, Omaha and potentially Scottsbluff. Faculty from UNL, UNO, and Wesleyan will join our pool of instructors, as well as many master teachers drawn from the K-12 teacher ranks.

Grand Island area teachers can also take advantage of the AIR@NE grant and take computer science tuition-free! For more information, see https://go.unl.edu/airne. The deadline to apply is Feb. 14.

To broaden our ability to serve teachers from across the state, we will also offer three classes online in Summer 2020: one for middle-level mathematics teachers only (Math 800T), one for middle-level and secondary (Math 807T), and one for secondary only (Math 896, topic TBA). Unfortunately, the 20 percent tuition reduction does not apply to online courses. However, K-12 Nebraska teachers who take one of these online courses may apply for a supplemental fellowship to help defray tuition costs for these online courses.

Check out the NMSSI website at http://go.unl.edu/nmssi for updates on course offerings, information about registration, tuition and fees, and the availability of fellowships. Tuition costs for 2020 will be updated on the "How Much Does a Course Cost?" page shortly.
