NMSSI Geometry Course Summer 2011

As a result of the NeSA-M, Nebraska's first statewide mathematics assessment, mathematics teachers at all grade levels are looking for new learning opportunities that support them in offering high quality mathematics courses to their students. The Nebraska Math and Science Summer Institutes (NMSSI) offer graduate mathematics and pedagogy courses using a teacher-friendly delivery model that helps teachers respond to this challenge.

Four courses are being offered in Greater / Western Nebraska in Summer 2012 to better serve teachers outside of the Lincoln area. Fellowships are available to help cover the cost of tuition so please register and apply now!

PRIMARY AUDIENCE: ELEMENTARY (GRADES 3-7) TEACHERS
Math 800T: Math as a Second Language
ESU 13, Scottsbluff, June 4-8 (Class # 3379)
ESU 17, Ainsworth, June 4-8 (Class # 3007)

PRIMARY AUDIENCE: MIDDLE-LEVEL (GRADES 6-9) TEACHERS
Math 802T: Functions, Algebra and Geometry
ESU 16, North Platte, June 11-15 (Class # 3010)

PRIMARY AUDIENCE: SECONDARY (GRADES 6-12) TEACHERS
Math 806T: Number Theory and Cryptology
ESU 13, Scottsbluff, June 18-22 (Class # 7695)

These courses are each just one week, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the respective ESU offices, and are each 3 credits of graduate coursework at UNL.
