Summer registration at UNL is now open! The Nebraska Math and Science Summer Institutes (NMSSI) schedule is posted online for your perusal at: https://unlcms.unl.edu/cas/csmce/nmssi-course-catalog-2022. If you took a course in Summer 2021, you do not need to reapply to UNL as a graduate student.
The mathematics and mathematics pedagogy courses appear first with science courses following. We have two new science courses this year, ASTR 892: Life in the Universe for STEM Teachers and BIOS 891: Modern Genetics & Inheritance. We are offering around 20 courses designed with K-12 math and science teachers in mind, using either an asynchronous online format ("on demand" style), a synchronous web conferencing format ("live" on Zoom), or in person. If you need a course that you do not see listed on the current schedule, please email us at nebraskamath@unl.edu.
Once admitted, all students should enroll for direct deposit in order to receive refunds or reimbursements for payments made before fellowships are applied:
1. Log on to MyRed: https://myred.nebraska.edu
2. Select either the Student Accounts or Financial Aid tab.
3. Select the “enroll in direct deposit” link.
4. Fill in your bank routing number, checking/saving account number, and indicate whether it is a checking or savings account. You can find your routing number and bank account number on one of your checks.
There is absolutely no charge to you for the electronic deposit service. Deposits are made automatically without any effort on your part, after your enrollment in Direct Deposit has been completed. We recommend taking advantage of this service by June 1.
Nebraska K-12 teachers can apply for NMSSI Fellowships to defray tuition costs for NMSSI courses (funds are limited). Tuition costs for summer 2022 will be updated on the "How much does a course cost?" page soon.
