Shelby Aaberg of Scottsbluff High School traveled to MAA MathFest in Tampa in August 2023 to accept his Edyth May Sliffe Award for Distinguished Mathematics Teaching in Middle School for his work with Bluffs Middle School Math Counts. Aaberg is the second person in Nebraska history to earn both middle school and high school honors. The Sliffe awards are given annually to teachers who provide outstanding support to students participating in AMC competitions. Congratulations, Shelby!
