Get ready for an impactful summer of professional development! This year, the Nebraska Math and Science Summer Institutes (NMSSI) are offering 14 engaging courses created specifically for K-12 math and science educators, using either an asynchronous online format ("on demand" style), a synchronous web conferencing format ("live" on Zoom), or in person. Whether you're looking to deepen your content knowledge or explore new teaching strategies, there's something for you.

The goal of NMSSI is to offer teachers of math and science intellectually rich graduate coursework that will enhance their ability to offer their students challenging courses and curricula. NMSSI courses are designed with teachers' schedules in mind.

This year's course catalog includes the following offerings for mathematics teachers:

  • MATH 802P - Number, Geometry & Algebraic Thinking II for K-3 teachers
  • MATH 802T - Functions, Algebra & Geometry
  • MATH 804T - Experimentation, Conjecture & Reasoning
  • MATH 809T - History of Mathematics for Teachers

  • STAT 812T - Statistics for High School Teachers
  • TEAC 808G - Improvement of Instruction in School Mathematics: Manipulatives in Math Education
  • TEAC 848G - Introduction to Curriculum Studies: Mathematics Curriculum Analysis & Design
  • TEAC 808J - Improvement of Instruction in School Mathematics: International Approaches to Teaching and Learning Math
