Bayer and Guinness World Records are partners in the Alka-Rocket Challenge, an event that aims to set a new world record for the highest Alka-Rocket launch.

Teams will use Bayer’s Alka-Seltzer tablets and water to create enough pressure to launch a film canister rocket. The winning team could earn up to $30,000. Last year’s winning team, from Brigham Young University, launched a rocket 883 feet into the air to set the world record.

Among the judges for the event are Dr. Mae Jemison, a NASA astronaut, and Karin Ann Payne, a NASA-affiliated expert from the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex.

Submissions are due by Nov. 1, and fan favorite voting begins on Nov. 4. Five finalist teams are announced Nov. 18 and those teams will compete at Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex in Florida on Dec. 12.
