Applications are now being accepted for the Big Ten Academic Alliance Student Design Challenge, a contest in which UNL students can redesign a space on campus for a chance to win a cash prize. The deadline for submissions is Tuesday, Nov. 26.

Teams of three to four students will compete by submitting new designs for an informal space chosen at each of the participating Big Ten schools. One University of Nebraska-Lincoln team will be selected to move forward to the national round of the competition. The top three teams will then be sent to the Herman Miller headquarters in Holland, Michigan, to refine and pitch their ideas to a panel of design experts. The winning team will receive a $2,000 cash prize and their proposal will be funded and built on their campus.

Last year, UNL's team, made up of students from the College of Architecture, made it to the final round of the competition. Students from all disciplines are welcome to submit a proposal. Details on how to participate are available at the link below.

If you would like to help spread the word about the competition in your college, marketing materials are available to download on Box (https://unl.app.box.com/s/j48gmwwyz032m0b00cm9cs6lkf41vsqx).
