Staff from the Nebraska Board of Engineers and Architects will be on campus to assist students with filling out applications for the next Fundamentals of Engineering Exam.
Campus visit sessions are 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.:

Please bring the names and phone numbers and/or email addresses of five people you will use for references on the application form. Examples of references are: fellow students, teachers, professors, civic leaders, employers, etc. No member of the Nebraska Board or their relatives will be accepted as a reference. Reference also cannot be relatives. International students must also bring copies of their USCIS documentation (current student visa and I-94). Students with foreign bachelor degrees need to have their applications into the Board (including the degree evaluation). All board applications must be completed in full or they will not be processed.
Students at UNL must have senior standing (completion of 89 credit hours or more) at the time the application is submitted. We will do our best to have a list of all seniors available; however, on the day of the visit you may be asked to obtain a letter from the Dean’s office for proof of your senior status.
The $30 application fee to the Board is waived for first time applicants currently enrolled in an ABET - Accredited Engineering Program in Nebraska or a graduate of such, and applying to taking the FE exam for the first time. Students applying to retake the test, are subject to the $30 filing fee. This includes those students who were approved for a previous test date, but did not take the test for any reason.
YOU MUST SIGN UP WITH BOTH THE BOARD OFFICE AND NCEES TO BE ELIGIBLE TO TAKE THE FE EXAM.
First Step: Sign up with the Board Office. You may sign up either during the campus visit or by sending in a completed application form to the board office. Upon Board approval you will be given a letter that provides directions on how to sign up with NCEES.
Second Step: Sign up with NCEES and pay their registration fee.
If you are not available for FE exam sign up during a campus visit, you may send in a completed Board application at any time up until the deadline. Applications may be faxed to the Board office at (402) 471-0787, and may be faxed from the Dean's Office located at 114 Othmer Hall.

IMPORTANT:
You must sign up with the Nebraska Board of Engineers and Architects BEFORE you sign up with NCEES to take the FE exam. You must sign up with BOTH the Board office and NCEES to take the FE exam.
