BSE's Schulte receives Outstanding Engineering Educator Award

Dennis Schulte, UNL professor of Biological Systems Engineering and Holling Family Distinguished Engineering Educator, was selected for the American Society of Engineering Education (ASEE) Midwest Section’s 2013 Outstanding Teaching Award. Schulte received the honor Sept. 20 at the group’s annual conference, hosted at Kansas State University Salina.

In an announcement letter, the ASEE added that Schulte “has set a high standard for teaching at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and for our entire ASEE Midwest Section.” The ASEE Midwest Section includes educators and business leaders from Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska and Oklahoma.

Schulte has taught for 35 years at UNL and has earned multiple teaching honors, including 12 UNL Parents Association Awards since 1993. He is a board certified environmental engineer and a licensed Professional Engineer in Nebraska.
