Engineering, Technology & Science Career Fair set for Tuesday

Spring Career Fair set for TuesdaySave the date: All Nebraska Engineering students, especially those still seeking summer internships, are encouraged to take advantage of the Spring Career Fair on Tuesday, Feb. 10 at the Nebraska Union in Lincoln. More than 120 companies typically attend this event, and some may be seeking interns.

 

Dean Wei to conduct town hall meetings

Dean Tim Wei will hold two town hall meetingsStudents are invited to find out what’s happening in the College of Engineering by attending one of Dean Tim Wei’s two town hall meetings, sponsored by eSAB – Tuesday, Feb. 17 from 6-7 p.m. in SEC 237 (Lincoln) and on Thursday, March 5 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in PKI 250 (Omaha).

 

EWB Clothing Drive begins

EWB Clothing Drive runs Feb. 9-20Donate new and gently used clothing to the Engineers Without Borders Clothing Drive to benefit the Matt Talbot Kitchen and Outreach Center. The drive runs Feb. 9-20. Look for boxes in the Engineering Complex (Lincoln City Campus), Chase Hall (East Campus) and the Peter Kiewit Institute (Omaha).

 

NeSPE and LEC offering scholarships

The Nebraska Society of Professional Engineers and the Lincoln Engineer's Club are offering scholarships to current UNL engineering students who are members of the student chapter of NeSPE. Applications must include your resume, a personal statement and letter of recommendation. Deadline is April 1.

College probation session Wednesday

(LNK) Did you get an email saying you are on College of Engineering probation this semester? Make sure to talk to your advisor and attend the special workshop on Wednesday, Feb. 11 in SEC 237 to get back on track.

 

Get your pizza slices on Thursdays

Pizza slices for sale on Thursdays(LNK) Engineers Without Borders (EWB) is selling pizza slices every Thursday in Nebraska Hall, near the stairs on the west side of the building. Members of EWB will sell the pizza and drinks beginning at 10:30 a.m. until they are gone.

 

Q&A about professional engineering

(OMA) Engineering students are invited to a Q&A session at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 18 in PKI 158 to discuss becoming a professional engineer. The presentation, sponsored by the Nebraska Board of Engineers and Architects, will focus on the first steps to licensure. Free pizza will be provided.
