Nebraska Engineering students can Make a World of Difference by joining in and building a stronger collegiate engineering community when the annual Engineers Week – also known as E-Week – runs today through Saturday on both the Lincoln and Omaha campuses.

Registration for events is currently underway on the E-Week web site (link below).

The annual week of events, a University of Nebraska tradition since 1913, runs in conjunction with National Engineers Week.

At UNL, College of Engineering students plan and coordinate all events for E-Week on both the Lincoln and Omaha campuses. While events change on an annual basis – based on the theme – these student-centered events generally include competitions, student banquets, recreational sports and light-hearted social events that bring the collegiate engineering community together.

The schedule of events for Lincoln also includes Donuts with the Dean, laser tag, a burrito-eating competition, an engineer design competition, a screening of “The Martian,” the faculty pancake flip and a talent show.

In Omaha, students can meet with local industry professionals at the E-Week Industry Networking Mixer on Thursday, February 25 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the PKI Atrium. Cost is free and reservations must be made online by today (February 22) at http://go.unl.edu/58x0. Attire is business casual and refreshments will be provided.

Before the mixer, join Jennifer Skidmore, career services coordinator, for the “Network Your Way to Success” workshop at 5 p.m. in PKI 350.

Lincoln students wishing to attend the mixer or workshop can use the N-E Ride shuttle. Schedules are available at engineering.unl.edu/n-e-ride/

Other Omaha events will include a pancake feed, an AutoCAD 3D modeling competition, ice skating, Engineer’s Night Out, a K’Nex design competition, a UNO hockey tailgate and game, the Mr. and Ms. Engineer Pageant and a dance.
