NESCO, FrESCO accepting applications

(OMA) The Nebraska Engineering Student Council at Omaha (NESCO) and the Freshman Engineering Student Council at Omaha (FrESCO) are accepting membership applications through Wednesday (Sept. 7) on MavSync.

NESCO is comprised of approximately 20 students who represent all majors on the College of Engineering’s Scott Campus. NESCO applicants must be pursuing an undergraduate degree in the College of Engineering and must be of sophomore standing at minimum.

Members of the NESCO general board help create a bridge between the students and administration, assist in the distribution of funds to recognized students organizations, and are involved in the preparation and execution of NESCO-sponsored events.

FrESCO is comprised of approximately 12 first-year engineering students from a variety of majors within the College of Engineering. FrESCO is designed to instill basic leadership principles and improve communication skills without giving specific leadership roles to students.

FrESCO members will put on two events over the 2016-17 school year to cater to engineering students, staff, and faculty.
