Complete Engineer Expos are Tuesday and Wednesday

Learn how as an engineer you can help solve the challenges facing our world by coming to the Complete Engineer Expo – Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in PKI Atrium on Scott Campus and Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Othmer Hall Lobby on City Campus.

The Complete Engineer Expo will introduce students to the College of Engineering’s Complete Engineer Initiative, which is a framework to help collegiate engineers to understand that their technical expertise must be paired with essential non-technical competencies to provide comprehensive and sustainable engineering solutions. These competencies are not replacements or substitutions for technical knowledge an engineer must possess, but are important complements that can give engineers an advantage in real-world situations.

The expo will have booths that will introduce students to the six competencies – Intercultural Appreciation, Leadership, Self-Management, Service and Civic Responsibility, Teamwork, and Understanding of Engineering Ethics – and explain why having that skill is important to an engineer. The booths will feature representatives of campus organizations and university offices who can answer questions and connect students to groups and activities.
