(OMA) There is no better way to introduce yourself to potential employers than with a firm handshake and a great place to meet them is at The Durham School Career Fair, Oct. 2-4 at the Scott Conference Center.
The Durham Career Fair is an invaluable opportunity for engineering students to meet employers face-to-face, make contacts, explore career options and inquire about full-time employment and internships.
All students in architectural engineering, civil engineering, construction engineering and construction management are encouraged to attend.
Even as a first-year student, it is important to experience what the career fair offers. There is always the chance that you could land that perfect summer internship. The number of employers attending the career fair continues to grow each year because our students are in demand.
The fair begins Monday, October 2, with Internship Presentations and a Welcome Reception from 4-7 p.m. Engineering students who have completed internships will share their experiences, with a reception to follow where you can meet with representatives from many companies, firms and industries in a relaxed atmosphere.
On Tuesday, October 3 from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. is the Career Fair, featuring booths and representatives from more than 80 employers.
The College of Engineering is offering reserved seats -- http://go.unl.edu/epix -- on the N-E Ride buses, which will transport students for free between Lincoln and Omaha for the Durham School Career Fair on Oct. 3. Shuttles will depart Othmer Hall at 8 a.m., 10 a.m., noon and 2 p.m., and will arrive at PKI at noon, 2 p.m., 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. The walk between PKI and Scott Conference Center is about 10 minutes, so students are asked to plan their times accordingly.
Employers will hold on-campus interviews with students on Wednesday, October 4 from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
