Two new Arrow buses serve as the primary shuttles for the college.
The updated College of Engineering design will make them easy to spot and include WiFi, a wheelchair lift and other amenities.
In addition, the N-E Ride shuttles provide many benefits to the riders and the UNL community, including:
* By carrying 50 riders a day, the shuttles save about 2,840 miles of driving per day - roughly the distance on Interstate 80 between San Francisco and Philadelphia.
* Weekly, those savings equate to more than 14,000 miles of driving.
* With the WiFi on the buses, riders can maintain their productivity by continuing to work during the hour-long ride instead of having to concentrate on driving.
* Anyone with an NU system ID card may use the shuttle.
* The status of the buses can be tracked using a smartphone app (for iPhone or Android) or by going online (nebraskaengineering/ridesystems.net).
