A new online course – Independent Research in Manufacturing Food Safety – will be offered for Spring semester. Open registration is underway and runs through Jan. 7, 2018.

The course combines laboratory research activities that provides students the opportunity to plan and conduct research. It also gives students hands-on experience in designing experiments, conducting research and preparing a research manuscript.

Students will work with the instructor and a participating faculty affiliate, who will mentor the students throughout the process.

By the end of the course, students will have a research poster and a manuscript ready for publication.

Each research project will be supported by a budget of up to $1,000 for supplies and research costs.

This course is open to all University of Nebraska-Lincoln graduate students and third- or fourth-year undergraduates. There is a maximum class enrollment of eight students. Open registration is underway and runs through Jan. 7, 2018.
