College's PLTW scholarship deadline is today

College of Engineering is offering scholarships for first-year students who participated in Project Lead the Way curriculum in high school.

The College of Engineering is offering competitive, merit-based scholarships for current first-year students on City and Scott campuses who participated in the PLTW curriculum in high school.

There are five one-time awards of $500 available. Applications are due by 5 p.m. today, Oct. 1.

To be considered, applicants must meet the following scholarship criteria:

*Be enrolled as an undergraduate, full-time, first-year student in the University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Engineering on either the City or Scott campus.

*Have attended a certified PLTW high school.

*Have completed at least two full-year PLTW courses and earned a grade of B (80%) or higher in each.

*Have earned a 6 or higher on the PLTW course EOC assessment for each course.

Applicants must submit the following PLTW scholarship application materials by the application deadline:

*A Nebraska Engineering PLTW scholarship application.

*A completed PLTW teacher form plus teacher recommendation.
