It’s time to file for CPT and Co-op enrollments

Students who intend to complete a Co-op or CPT experience this summer and/or in fall 2019 must meet with Engineering Career Services by May 3. Contact Jen Skidmore (City Campus) at jenskidmore@unl.edu or Bonnie Martin (Scott Campus) bonniemartin@unl.edu to get started.

What is a Co-op? co-op is a paid job, similar to an internship, but you work full-time hours for an extended period (typically a semester plus summer) – and DO NOT take classes at the same time. Students maintain full-time student status while on co-op and resume their studies when they return to campus, but you must submit paperwork through me in order to maintain your full-time student status.
What is CPT? CPT is employment authorization for an off-campus work experience for international students that MUST be directly related to a student’s major area of study. CPT authorization may be used toward internships, co-ops, or other type of directly related work experiences.
