Plenty of fun is on tap for Nebraska Engineering students with the 2019 Scott Campus Welcome Week, with free pancakes, movies and ice cream today and more fun events scheduled throughout the week.
Here’s a quick look at the week’s schedule:
MONDAY, AUG. 26
*8 a.m.-noon: NESCO Info Booth, PKI Atrium. Learn more about NESCO and get help finding your classes.
*9-10:30 a.m.: Pancake Man, PKI Atrium. Enjoy free pancakes, sausage links and orange juice.
*5-7 p.m.: Mav Spirit Social, DJ’s Dugout (Aksarben Village). Free appetizers and swag, including free t-shirts to first 100 students.
*6-8 p.m.: Free Night at the Cinema, Aksarben Cinema (Aksarben Village). First 500 students to show their MavCARD get a free movie ticket to a Monday night, Aug. 26 showing.
*8-10 p.m.: Scoop for Students, Cold Stone Creamery (Aksarben Village). First 500 students to show their MavCARd get a free scoop of ice cream.
TUESDAY, AUG. 27
*11:30 p.m.-1 p.m.: Student Involvement & Resource Fair, PKI Atrium and Front Courtyard. Opportunity to meet with PKI student organization representatives and resource offices from across campus. Free pizza sponsored by Union Pacific.
*2-4 p.m.: Jobs & Java, Maverick Landing. Free coffee samples from the Campus Grind and information on how to search for part-time jobs and internships.
WEDNESDAY, AUG. 28
*11:30 p.m.-1 p.m.: Student Involvement & Resource Fair, PKI Atrium and Front Courtyard. Opportunity to meet with PKI student organization representatives and resource offices from across campus. Free pizza sponsored by Union Pacific.
*6-9 p.m.: Newman Center BBQ, Newman Center. The St. John Paul II Newman Center welcomes students for an evening of food, beverages, music and yard games.
THURSDAY, AUG. 29
*10 a.m.-noon: Fruit Smoothie & Frozen Coffee Bar, PKI Atrium. Sponsored by The Durham School of Architectural Engineering and Construction.
*6-9 p.m.: Carnival/Game Night, PKI Atrium and Courtyard. Enjoy free fun and food. Sponsored by NESCO.
FRIDAY, AUG. 30
*11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.: UNO Volleyball Pre-Game Party, Dudley’s (Aksarben Village). First 50 students get a t-shirt.
*1:30-3:30 p.m.: Engineering Ice Cream Social & Planner Party, PKI Atrium. Enjoy free donut sundaes while learning how to get organized for the semester.
